We are welcome a new developer to the What Now Travel team:

Christoforos joins us from Busuu where he developed the Android app. Since his arrival, he has been building the Android version of our app with his bare hands!

He has a wealth of experience in computer science; he has two MSCs, one in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University, and one in Software Engineering from Manchester University. In his spare time, he likes to code. His best protoype was a social network for restaurants called Neighborfood. But he also likes to travel and explore new cultures!

Silicon Milkroundabout 9.0:

In early May we pitched up at Silicon Milkroundabout for the third time in search of new recruits. Tony attended both days with either Aftab and Theo to help him out. Here’s a photo of Tony and Aftab looking fresh before the event. If you are interested in applying for a job at What Now Travel, check out our jobs page for a list of available roles.

London Co-Investment Fund:

Earlier this year, we were “green lighted” to be part of the London Co-Investment Fund ( – money from the Mayor’s Office in London to be invested alongside other investors in fast growing startups as part of their “seed plus” rounds before Series A financing. The fund also runs an 8 week educational programme with key talks from leading players in the London tech startup scene advising on everything from fund-raising to hiring to even expanding abroad! The TechCrunch editor-at-large even came in to do a piece on contacting journalists/raising PR for startups – a very useful reminder to everyone there on all the competition for journalists’ time and attention!

New App Release

On the 9th May we released a major update to the iOS app. We’ve introduced a 3 tab bar making it easier for you to navigate around the app. We’ve also introduced ‘My day in London’ to help you visualise your route, and navigate around the city.
